trying something new

Octopus, the gigantic roller coaster, trying to learn a new language, but later accepting defeat. That pretty much describes me, always willing to do something without really knowing what i'm getting myself into. Even as a child, my parents would call me the "outgoing one", and i guess i have lived up to that, since i'm always up to trying new things. It usually shows at the ice cream shop or state fair, ordering grapefruit sorbet and fried alligator. SOmetimes it may even be talking to someone that is doing something interesting, and seeing how i can get involved. So, if you want to try something new, but you are cautious , i'll be glad to help.

Hi, my name is Kristin and I'm a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, preparing to be an English teacher. I'll be reading and commenting on your blog throughout the semester, and am excited to get to know more about you and what you like to read.

What language did you attempt...and then give up on? I've had fried alligator on a stick, and it's like they say, it pretty much tasted just like chicken. Anticlimactic.

Have you ever eaten a cricket?
